Annika Ellen Paskett

was born weighing 7 lbs. 7 oz. at 18.5 inches long!

I'm still a little too tired to blog the whole play by play, so here are some pictures to tide you all over until I do.

5 Month OB Visit

We had our 20 week ultrasound today, and the news is in: we are having a baby girl!!! The doctor says the ultrasound tech has never been wrong and she does them for 4 doctors and a midwife. I just knew she was a girl.

Our little girl is growing perfectly. She is right on track and very healthy. Squirmy too. She didn't like the ultrasound probe on my belly or the goo, cuz it was cold, so she kicked the probe good and hard once for me, made me laugh. We saw Dr. Noorda today instead of Dr. Blackett, cuz she was doing surgery. Nice guy, but way too friendly and touchy for my taste. Apparently any modesty I have won't matter by the time I have this kid. Kelly and I are absolutely giddy. We went and bought a cute onsie to celebrate.

This is our muffin's little legs kicking at the probe. See the little knee cap? (The stuff that looks like boy bits is just her umbilical cord, we asked)

This is just the beginning of embarassing baby pictures. Those are her little legs thrown up in the air, showing us that she is lacking the necessary parts to have made her a boy.

7 Weeks

The ticker at the top of the page is right on the money. I've spent way too much time with my head in the toilet this past week and have determined: I need to clean it more often!

We told my grandparents about the baby today at my graduation breakfast. Both sets seemed very excited for us, although a little surprised.

Breaking the News

We told Mom and Dad about the baby yesterday. They didn't take it well as Kelly's parents did.

You're serious aren't you? You are in so much trouble.

5 Weeks

I am 5 weeks pregnant! (give or take, we're not positive cuz we haven't been to a doctor yet)

I'm planning on posting weekly belly shots, even though there's not going to be much to see for a while.

We told Kelly's parent's about the baby yesterday. His mom stopped dead in her tracks halfway to the door. I've never seen them so excited, which makes me incredibly happy.

They're a bit disappointed that we're probably going to be in Minnesota when our angel is born, but we'll be home as much as we can, and are coming back when I'm done with my Master's.

We Are Pregnant!

I took a test Sunday morning and had to get Kelly out of bed to confirm that faint line was really a second line. We spent the day my parent's trying not to say anything.

Monday morning I took another test. I used a digital EPT so there would be no question about it. It was 4 AM and I started jumping up and down and squealing. Then, I promptly tackled my cranky and mostly unconscious husband.

We are pregnant! I went into the Student Health Center after class and had a blood test done to confirm it. Our appointment with Baby your Baby is on Tuesday the 4th. After that, we'll have insurance on our little miracle and can start shopping for an OB-GYN. Here we go!
