Happy Halloween!

Anni was a chicken for Halloween! We didn't have room for a costume in the budget, but Grandma Cindee and Grandpa Steve came to the rescue and had this one from last year.

I took her into Lowe's to trick or treat since everyone kept telling me I had an imaginary child because no one had ever seen her. She got a box of animal crackers and a bag of teddy grahams from my manager. She learned how to open the Velcro on the front of the jacket, but can't get her arms out of the sleeves, so she ran around the house looking like a flasher for awhile too.

Ross's Visit

I'm pretty slow to get this up, but Ross came and spent a weekend with us. We took a few hikes and just hung out a lot. Anni remembered him almost right away.

She scraped up her leg for the first time just after Ross left. She fell on one of her toys.Loving a walk with Uncle Ross.

Ross found a huge mushroom, and was in 7th heaven.

Annika's First Word

Annika said her first word yesterday!

"Up!"

I was sitting on the couch playing with Kelly's phone and she ran over and started patting the cushion next to me and said, "Up, up, up!" She's been holding her arms up when she wants to be picked up for awhile now, and saying "uh, uh, uh!" but she finally got it all together.

She's got 2 bottom molars and 2 on the top are halfway through. I love this picture because you can see the gap between her front teeth. It makes her toothy smiles so sweet.

Just a little update

Anni insists on trying everything that we eat, which is a good thing in theory. She hasn't figured out that she has to bite down on apples, so she just kinda licks it.Look at all that hair!She doesn't want to hold my hand when we go hiking anymore. "I'm a big girl, Mommy!"

She's a girly girl, and loves bags.

Just the sweetest thing ever!

She loves her soft blankets and packs them everywhere.

There's not a whole lot of new stuff going on, but I thought I'd post some new cute pictures of Anni.

Annika's First Hike

We took Anni out on her first hike today. We just went to the nature preserve like we normally do in the evening, but today she got to walk. We decided that she was walking well enough to get her some real shoes and let her run free. She loved every minute of it, even though she had a hard time staying upright on the uneven ground. Her shoes are a bit too big too. We couldn't find the kind of shoes we wanted in baby sizes, she's a 4, so we bumped her up to toddler shoes.
She was falling too much when she was walking on her own, so we held her hands and she did great. She jabbered and pointed the whole time.

Bath Time Fun

Anni loves bath time and sometimes cries when we pull her out. Her hair is getting so long it's fun to play with.Last night she got away from Kelly. I was on the computer when I heard her running down the hallway. I turned around and saw a stark naked, wet baby running for her toys.She started running from me when I came after her with a diaper. She just likes being naked I guess.

She's a sweetheart.

More Walking

I'm just so proud of how well our little angel is walking. I give it a week and she'll be running.
